Septimius Severus (193-211). BI Tetradrachm, Laodicea ad Mare (Seleucis and Pieria). Struck 207-209 AD. Obv. AVT KAI CЄOYHPOC CЄ. Laureate and draped bust right. Rev. ΔHMAPX ЄΞ VΠA TOC Γ. Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; star between legs. Prieur 1140; Prieur & Amandry Group II, 22; McAlee, Severan, Group 2, 16. BI. 12.17 g. 28.00 mm. Attractive green and brown tone, over brilliant surfaces (visible on obverse). Choice EF.
