Faustina I, wife of Antoninus Pius (died 141 AD). AR Denarius, 141 AD. Obv. DIVA FAVSTINA. Draped bust right. Rev. AVGVSTA. Ceres standing left, holding long torch and raising fold of skirt. RIC III (A. Pius) 362. AR. 3.34 g. 19.00 mm. An outstanding example, sharply struck, from masterly engraved and fresh dies. Enchanting delicate portrait and lovely even grey toning, with iridescent hues. Good EF.
