C. Poblicius Q. f. AR Denarius serratus, 80 BC. Obv. Draped bust of Roma right, two feathers on helmet; behind, ROMA and above, A. Rev. Hercules left, strangling the Nemean lion, club at his feet. In left field, bow and quiver; above, A and in right field, C. POBLICI Q.F. Cr. 380/1; B. 9. AR. 4.20 g. 18.00 mm. Great metal. An outstanding example, sharply struck on an overweight flan, from masterly engraved dies, perfectly centred and unusually complete. Lovely light iridescent tone. Good EF.
