L. Calpurnius Piso Frugi. AE As, 90 BC. Obv. Laureate head of Janus. Rev. L P[ISO] Prow right, [on which Victory stands right, holding palm]; in exergue, FRVGI. Cr. 340/4; B. (Calpurnia) 18. AE. 11.33 g. 27.00 mm. An outstanding example, from a masterfully engraved obverse die. Lovely deep olive green patina, with a shallow corrosion spot beside the edge on obverse. Rough and slightly pitted area on reverse, otherwise,. about EF.
