ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ/ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ. Zeus Aëtophoros seated left, legs crossed; Artemis Phosphoros facing with two torches to left. Price 882; HGC 3 1355; Draganov 880; Peykov F2010. AR. 16.64 g. 29.50 mm. RR. Rare and choice for issue, from slightly worn obverse die. Nice even gray toning, with underlying luster. About EF. Kavaros was the last ruler of the kingdom of Tylis, founded in eastern Thrace by the Galatian chieftain, Comontorius, in c. 279 BC. Under Kavaros the Galatian kingdom took on more of the character of a northern Hellenistic kingdom like nearby Bithynia and Pontos.
