Danubian limes. Cast lead mystic plaque. Dacia and Moesia, 3rd-4th century AD. Obv. Danubian cast lead plaque in the form of rectangular aedicula; on thympanum, fish right; in the upper corners, to left, bust of Mithra (?); to right, bust of Attis (?). Figural design in several scenes within circular garlanded frame: in the upper row, female figure standing facing, between the busts of Helios and Selene. In the middle row, Helen facing between the Dioscuri on horseback (the Danubian Horsemen); two prone figures below the horses. In the third row, sacrifical scene. In the lower corners, two busts. Rev. Blank. PB. R. 90 x 79 mm. A choice example. Lovely even grey tan patina. Good VF.
