Julia Mamaea, mother of Severus Alexander (died 235 AD). AE Dupondius, Rome mint, 228 AD. Obv. IVLIA MAMAEA AVGVSTA. Draped bust right, wearing stephane, set on crescent. Rev. FELICITAS PVBLICA SC, Felicitas standing facing, head left, holding caduceus and leaning on column. RIC IV (Sev. Alex.) 678. AE. 11.53 g. 25.50 mm. A very elegantly engraved portrait of Julia Mamaea, in the best style of this period. Enchanting light emerald green patina. A superb coin. EF.
