Greek Italy. Northern Apulia, Salapia. AE 14.5 mm. Circa 225-210 BC. Obv. ΣΑΛΑΠΙΝΩΝ. Head of young Pan right, pedum at shoulder. Rev. Hawk right, wing closed, on Ionic capital; above, palm branch; below, [ ]ΑΔΩΑ (retrograde)/ Φ. HN Italy 693; HGC 1 643. AE. 1.82 g. 14.50 mm. RR. Very rare and in excellent condition for issue,, with exceptionally clear letters on reverse (contrary to HN Italy example, with unreadable "traces of letters"). Good VF/VF.
