L. Lucretius Trio. AR Denarius, 76 BC. Obv. Radiate head of Sol right. Rev. TRIO within crescent moon and seven stars; below, L. LVCRETI. Cr. 390/1; B. 2. AR. 4.02 g. 18.50 mm. Sound metal and full weight. A choice example, well centred, brilliant and lightly toned, with reddish-golden hues. About EF. The "compass dot" over the crescent moon, maybe intentionally not dissimulated by the engraver, seems a distant planet in the firmament.
