Austria. Maria Theresa (1740-1780). AR Taler, dated 1780, SF. AR. 28.03 g. 41 mm. UNC. Since the death of Maria Theresa in 1780, the coin has always been dated 1780. After introducing the decimal system (1 Gulden = 100 Kreuzer) in 1858, it lost its status as a currency in Austria. The 'Maria Theresa Thaler' continues to be produced by the Austrian Mint in Vienna.
