Caracalla (198-217). AR denarius, 201-206 AD. Obv. ANTONINVS PIVS AVG. Laureate and draped bust right. Rev. ADVENT AVGG. Galley left, with five rowers, signum and aquila at stern; an officer standing right and giving a report or saluting the three seated imperial figures. RIC IV 120; C. 3. AR. 3.55 g. 18.00 mm. R. Rare. A lovely example of this fascinating issue, bright and nicely toned. A superb reverse, sharply struck and clearly detailed. About EF/EF.
