Greek Asia. Kings of Elymais. Uncertain early Arsakid king. BI Tetradrachm, uncertain mint, late 1st century BC-early 2nd century AD. Obv. Diademed bust left, wearing long pointed beard; to right, star-in-crescent above anchor, small pellet to left of anchor. Rev. Type usually obliterated (bust left?); degraded legend around. Cf. Van't Haaff Type 10.3.1-1Bb= PDC 34173 and 21656. Cf. Alram NB 1. Cf. BMC 28. 250, 15-18 and pl. XXXIX, 3-6. BI. 15.38 g. 29.00 mm. R. Rare. A very interesting example. Attractive reddish brown patina. Good VF.
