Sicily. Syracuse. Hieron II (274-215 BC). AE 21 mm. c. 240-215 BC. Obv. Diademed head of Poseidon left. Rev. Ornamented trident head flanked by two dolphins; in field, IEP - ΩNOΣ. HGC 2 1550; CNS II 197; SNG ANS 965. AE. 8.50 g. 21.00 mm. An attractive example. Lovely uneven green patina, with lighter green and reddish brown spots. Good VF.
